The nights get interesting around here!

For the month of September, my husband has been working till around 9pm every night (and 12 hour days on Saturdays, too). It has been interesting around our house in the evenings while I am struggling to keep the boys entertained and busy (without destroying the house).
Well, while I was doing some homework the other night I heard them running and laughing and didn't think much of it until it was going on for a very long time with no interruption of someone screaming in pain. That is a little odd for these two boys to go that long without injuring eachother.
So, I got up to investigate. This is what I found.....

The boys had gone in their room and found the red bandanas I use as curtain tie back for their curtains and turned them into superman capes.

A few days later I remembered we had this cape Grandma had bought Dylan a while back. Unfortunately, those with more than one child will attest to the fact that you always need one of everything for every child....
So I dug through my old fabric scraps and found a piece of red flannel and some velcro with an adhesive back. And this is what I whipped up for Liam.....

He is young enough to not realize that his doesn't have the Superman sign on the back

(shhhhh... no one tell him!)

He is just happy to look just like his big brother.

Only 69 years young....

Potty Time!

Liam sitting on the potty....

He is getting some coloring done while he sits (he is a multi-tasker just like his Mommy).

Notice Spiderman is patiently waiting for him to finish on the steps.

So cute.

Best Friends

My little boys are becoming the best of friends.
They love playing together (and fighting together).
Wrestling matches, debating over which Spiderman movie is better....
Conversation goes like this:
Liam: "Watch Green Goblin, Mommy? Please?"
Dylan: "NO! Dr. Octavius!"
Liam: "No, D-yan! Green Goblin!"
Dylan: "Dr. Octavius is better!"
Liam: "No, D-yan!" Green Goblin hit Spiderman! Spiderman shoots webs, D-yan. Watch Green Goblin!"
Mommy: "Ok, boys. Lets watch Green Goblin first, then Dr. Octavius. Ok?"
They are growing so fast and are so fun to watch. I can't wait for them to become even better friends as they grow.
But sometimes don't wish you could just pause time and keep them how they are now, forever?

Back to School

Dylan's back in school!
This is his second year of preschool and he now goes 3 days a week for 5 hours a day!
And.... He gets to take a lunch! Woo-hoo! (He loves that part)

Now I have 3 whole days with only 1 child in tow.

I have been getting a lot done....

1. We went to Target

2. We went to lunch with Grandma

3. We went to the park with friends (Liam had a blast with Grant and mommy got to actually have a real adult conversation with her friend, Laura)

4. We hung out with our playgroup friends

5. Mommy did some school work

6. We got the car washed

Hmmm.... It seemed like a lot more before I wrote it all down. But, Dylan loves school and absolutely LOVES learning anything anyone will teach him. (and he retains absolutely everything anyone has ever said to him or around him since he was born almost 4 years ago...which can be scary)

He sure was getting bored sitting around the house since summer preschool ended. I am just glad he has something fun to do now.

And Liam is happy to have some alone time... I think.
